Current Research Scholars
Privita Ra. G. Edwina, Ph.D. candidate
Her research is focused on examining the influence of physical confinement on the anisotropy of cancer cells. She aims to (i) recreate tumor-associated architecture of extracellular matrix, (ii) quantify the effect of ECM architecture on cellular migration, and (iii) study the changes in traction induced by varying ECM architecture. Pre-doctoral background: Biotechnology
Manoj Sivasubramaniapandian, Ph.D. candidate
Manoj is working on characterization and biosensing of body fluids, specifically tears and blood. Using a host of techniques such as optical tweezers, and inductance spectroscopy, he aims to identify easy-to-detect features in data collected using such fluids. Pre-doctoral background: Biomedical Engg.
Mahitha aims to understand the dynamics of extracellular vesicles, in the context of pulmonary injury. She is interested in designing an in-vitro experimental model of ventilator-induced lung injury (VILI), amenable to imaging. Pre-doctoral background: Mechanical Engg.
Vimal aims to understand the dynamics of extracellular vesicles, in the context of cancer progression. Specifically, he is studying the role of external confinement in regulating the characteristics of extracellular vesicles. He has a Masters training in Zoology.
